Pilates

Originally developed as a way to help injured soldiers in the early 20th century, Pilates has become an incredibly popular fitness and rehabilitation method for people of all ages and fitness levels. With a strong focus on balance and posture, Pilates is very effective in creating a stronger core, long, lean muscles and an overall sense of wellbeing.

Private Lessons

These can be carried out on a one to one basis, or you can share the experience with a friend or family member.

Pilates

This is a mixed ability class which is suitable for complete beginners. The class contains a combination of standing and mat work with a strong focus on the fundamental elements of Pilates. Classes take place at: Wednesdays 6.30pm to 7.30pm at Cawthorne Methodist Church, Darton Road, Cawthorne.

Standing Pilates

This class incorporates all of the functional movements of a regular Pilates class but is all carried out in a standing position. Because of this, it is incredibly beneficial at improving balance, strength and bone density.
It is suitable for all but may be particularly beneficial for;

  • older people,
  • people with osteoprosis,
  • people who have difficulties getting up and down from the floor,
  • people recovering from peripheral joint injuries.
