Scars can continue to wreak havoc within the body long after they look to be healed. Under the surface, they can create a lot of restriction, pulling and dragging to the surrounding tissues which can affect pain and movement throughout the body.
C-Section and abdominal scars are very deep and can run through multiple layers of tissue. This can result in back pain, poor posture, poor breathing patterns, pelvic pain, digestive issues and much more.
Regardless of the age of the scar, scar therapy can provide amazing results.
It is essential that any scars are healed before any massage or scar work can take place around the area.
This treatment is suitable for all types of abdominal surgery, not just c-section.
For some people scars can be very emotional and can be a reminder of traumatic experiences. I always work with you to feel comfortable and create a bespoke service to ensure that you feel comfortable moving forwards.

In order to work effectively, I will need to be able to easily access your scar/s so you can expect to undress down to your underwear where necessary. I use large sheets to ensure that your dignity is maintained throughout.
Although improvements can often be seen and felt after the first session, a minimum of 3 sessions are advised for optimal results.

The first treatment is 90 minutes.
Future sessions may be 60 or 90 minutes dependant upon needs.

This will vary from person to person. It is not uncommon to see or feel good results after just one session but typically a minimum of 3 sessions is advised.
I will need to able to access your scar to work directly on to and around it. I advise that you will need to undress down to your underwear but you will be covered with sheets or towels to ensure that you feel relaxed and comfortable.
